　Toru INAISHI / イナイシとおる

イナイシとおるの作品は何かがおかしい。四角い猫や傷口がガラスできらめく彫刻を見たことがあるだろうか。稲石の作品は粘土材で造形しガラス玉を埋め込み油彩彩色したものが多い。

稲石は2000年から彫刻家大平隆洋に師事し10年以上塑像術を学んだ後、2013年から5年間武蔵野武術大学で絵画や現代美術表現を学んだ。

稲石は、変化の早い現代社会の生きづらさを感じながら、人間の固定観念を乗り越えた不変の存在を生み出したいと願っている。猫は四角くてもいいんじゃないか。女性の顔に半導体が埋まっていてもいいんじゃないか。
稲石は、長く蓄積したアート経験とその創造性を武器に現代的なアート作品を作り続けている。

Toru INAISHI’s artworks are one-of-a-kind. Have you ever seen square shaped cat sculptures or lively statues with sparkling wounds?

Many of his artworks are made of clay material, embedded with glass balls and painted with oil.

He studied sculpture under the sculptor, Takahiro OHIRA for more than 10 years since 2000. After his master died, however, he studied painting and contemporary art expression at Musashino Art University in Tokyo for five years from 2013.

INAISHI feels the pain of living in fast changing modern society and wishes to create immutable existences that overcome human stereotypes. Cats can be square. A woman’s face could have Japanese and Korean characteristics (they are often in conflict) with semiconductors embedded in it.

Using his long experience in art and his creativity, INAISHI continues to create ironic and contemporary artworks.
